I have recently taken on an old cottage that requires a little bit of work. One task I have is to put in a floor that has an 8 m span. I'm trying to find the cheapest material to use that will safely do the job. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks
It would be possible to design a Engineered joist that would clear that span, although it would be a stupid depth (around the 475mm mark ) Honestly probably not an option.
Otherwise a Bison Floor as woody stated, or you break the span up with a RSJ and give your self more options on what material to use
