does anybody know how i go about getting driveshaft off drivers side 96 fiesta please?

On the escorts you just give them a good yank to pull them out of the gearbox.

Once youve knocked out the ball joints, undone the hub nut like neo says, a good sharp pull. Or if its a bit stuborn a prybar between the gearbox housing and shaft.

The drivers side shaft has an intermediate support bearing retaining plate that needs to be released (2x 11mm nuts (I think) ). The nuts are located half way along and above the shaft. The Haynes manual No. 3397 will give you all the info if you get stuck.
ps. You will probably have to tap the intermediate bearing out of it's housing.
