So turns up to fix a gas cooker ( those of you that remember old mother Riley keep that vision in your minds eye ) real life version of Old Mother Riley..........
She leans back with her hips leaning against the worktop her head raised up and takes a long long draw from a cigarette and says "and I've smoked all my life !"
Prior to this she told me she was 104 and then showed me telegram from the queen.
Her niece was 80 odd and lived in the flat below hers, it was like a real life version of a female step toe and son. The banter and mickey taking between the two had to be seen to be believed. .........mocking impressions of each other even.......
This was ten or fifteen years ago I'll take this memory to the grave. She still baked and gave me a scone and cup of tea. Life is what you make it.
