Hi All,
I want to build a raised flower bed out of some planks of wood against my neighbour's newly built retaining wall on the boundary between his drive and mine. There is a gap between the wall and the edge of my concrete of about 5 to 15cm at the moment. The retaining wall's height is about 70cm, and my drive is about 20 - 30cm higher (highest point) than my neighbour's, owing to the slope of the road.
My questions are;
1. Can I fill the gap with some garden soil? And build a raised flower bed on the gap against the wall? (size would be 4m x 30cm) if not, should I fill the gap with hardcore and put some mortar on top? I want to avoid long-term damage to his brickwork.
2. What sort of wood should I use?
Any advice please.
Thank you.
