I know that this is going to appear a very stupid question but I have something that is really annoying me and I am determined to find an answer if I can. I have a ceramic dog bowl which, because we no longer have a dog, is used for water for the wild birds that I feed outdoors. A couple of years ago the frost cracked open the bowl with the break all the way round at the bottom of the bowl. I used some epoxy glue and stuck it back together again and it didn't leak after that.
But the frost has done it again and I am trying to find something that I can put a layer of in the bottom of the bowl so that will stick it togther again and also seal it.
I have tried melting very thin plastic with a flame gun with a view to putting a layer of it in the borrom of the bowl but that is never going to work. Does anyone have any idea what I could use ? Would putty work if I put a layer of about half an inch in the bottom of the bowl ? Is there some kind of sealant that I could try that would glue it together and stay hard under water ?
I know that I can buy another bowl fairly cheaply but I am determined to find a solution if I possibly can.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
