A simpleton's guide to changing a car fuse.

Dead simple, right?
67 plate Peugeot Bipper with no brake lights. Best check the fuses, I thought, although I could see no reason for a failure there.
So- some fuses under the dash drivers side, the handbook shows which fuses do what....a good start. Unfortunately the handbook picture is a mirror image so the book has to be upside down and read right to left
All fuses good there so diving under the bonnet to check the engine bay fuses. Unfortunately you can't get the fuse cover off without removing the N/S headlamp
All fuses good there too so finally found the culprit to be a faulty block connector within the O/S inner wing That hadn't been disturbed before, but there you go.
Great stuff! A FIAT cloned Peugeot van, manufactured in Turkey......what a combination!

Useful to make sure the correct fuses are to hand -
Amp value sort of obvious, but - micro, mini or standard physical size ?

Many makes now use a combination of medium and mini, but of course there are the bigger square ones and the 60A rectangulars which doesn’t make it easy for us!
Another laugh re the Bipper - the image of the fuse box was inverted in the handbook, there were no spares and no extraction tweezer.

Haynes manuals were always good for a chuckle. Find the relevant pages which showed pictures of a new vehicle with diagrams for disassembly. Compare that to the mud caked, slarted mess of the aging vehicle in front of one's self was oft a cause for puzzlement and bemusement.
