a spur from socket for a light?

is it possible to run a spur from a double socket to power a light fitting?
i`m in process of doing kids bedroom up and plasterboarding understairs of lost stairs but it`ll be very dark as there is no light.there is however a double socket in there.so could i take spur from that for a light and switch

Use 2.5mm wire for the spur to a 3A FCU (if you use a switched FCU, this could double up as the light switch), and then 1.0mm wire from the FCU to the light. However, it is important to ensure that the double socket is not already a spur - you should not spur off a spur.
