Could someone give me advice concerning an ideal Isar combi boiler? 4 years old

My problem started when I noticed that the lights from the combi where not working but the boiler was still actually working only when I switched it off and then on again did the boiler not work, Closer inspection revealed that water was leaking from underneath the boiler.

Few questions:

What caused the water leak?

If there was an initial inspection say three months before my problem, would this leak have been averted?

Would a drop in pressure cause the leak?

I have had an engineer look at it and it’s going to be a hefty price to fix it £490.00
but if a certain company had did there inspection in the first place it might have been averted.

Thanks
In advance

I'm not trying for compensation,
I'm trying for my maintenance company to foot the bill and except responsibility because they did not in 4 months send out an engineer when i signed up to them to cover my heating system and boiler and if they did send out a engineer when they should have would they have noticed a future problem?

WHo can say whether tere was a leak there 3 months ago? Or whether it could have started leaking just after any inspection?
Why so expensive, where did the water go>?

The water started to leak from inside the combi, an engineer from the company has said that i need a new pcb board a heat plate? and various other parts

looking at your question has made me think that it may not have actually been from the pipe but from within the combi.

I am having issues with my maintenance contract company because when i signed up to them 4 months ago they did not send an engineer for an initial inspection therefore they say i have to pay for the parts as they stipulate that they need to fully inspect my boiler before i am totally covered. Notably they have been taking my money for the last 4 months.

I don't think there was a leak there 3 months ago but an inspection may have noticed a potential danger, of a leak

Drop in pressure?

Thanks for your time

Would a drop in pressure cause the leak?
Arsy versy - a leak causes a loss in pressure!

Plate?? Plate heat exchanger?? They're stainless steel, and unless that's what's leaking, shouldn't need replacing. If it is leaking they should replace it free...?

Surely if they take your money but THEY don't do an inspection that's their problem?? Make a noise, Trading Standards, Watchdog, etc etc
