Fault, boiler has a mind of its own turns on by itself and can only be turned off by switching off at front.
When turned back on and DHW or CH is attempted no hot water is delivered and boiler wont go off again.

Could it be the thermister telling boiler its cold?
Had new diverter 3way fitted by BG should the thermister have been replaced at same time.

Thankss

If no hot water is being delivered the boiler isint actually firing up, what does the pressure guage show ? any lights showing on the front of the boiler ? and finally try turning the boiler off from the mains to reset it.

Might be worth checking the flow thermistor, if it's open circuit the boiler will go into frost protection and fire up on its own.

If its really firing up then it produces heat and that has to go somewhere.

BG or any other engineer should only replace any part if its faulty.

Assuming they left the boiler functioning properly then it has developed another fault. Boilers ( cars, TVs and anything else with mechanical or electronic parts ) can all fault at any time.

My car failed to start after refueling today. Not bad really after having been no problem for three years! I was given a lift all the way home by a nice Scottish fellow and returned to charge battery and drive it home.

Hi again,
problem solved, the man that said it was the thermistor wins the money lol.
Got one from ebay brand new £6.50 fitted it in 10 mins no more mystery boiler incidents.
