As the title says, I'm right about to put my house on the market and my toddler decided to rip the baby gate off the stairs. The problem I've got is it's right as you come in the front door so very noticeable. Any particular product recommended that could use for this patch (maybe 2 inch diameter) that I can get a good finish relatively easy finish?

Thanks in advance

Some 'add water' hole filler (put on in thin layers with old credit card. It shrinks back when it sets so need multiple layers. Best to put on thin layers and not make a lump, as less to sand back.

And a sanding block

Cheers mate, I'll give it a go.

So basically put on a thin layer, wait a few hours to dry and then repeat until filled and sand down at the end?

Yes, exactly that.
That stuff is like plaster of Paris - so drys realtively quickly if layers are thin.
(I sometimes sand off any ridges that I may have made to make it easier to get on next layer).

Try not to add too much water as you mix it. It suddenly goes from dry to too wet.
