Hey Guys.

My Sister has just bought a new build house, which has a bedroom with balcony with an infra-red triggered sensor light

As its my nieces room i bought some LED ropes lights that can be used outside. Similar to these:

LED Rope lights.

The lights have a 3 pin plug attached to one end which is sealed.

So, from previous experience i know adding a new circuit to the Consumer unit is a no no as its notifiable and needs a minor works alteration to the certificate. Also i think it would be overkill to get wiring down 3 floors.

So my question is can i add a IP rated weather box as a spur from this outside light to supply electricity to the balcony?

Thanks

You can - would you put a 13A socket in the box for the lights to plug in to?
If so, you need to label the socket as being suitable for lighting only - just in case some muppet plugs in an electric fire, or something.

Hi didn't get a notification about your response.
That was the plan.

Is there any way to use Halogen heaters of them?
