Hi, I've added a new light switch in my shed/ workshop so that I have a switch next to the door and so I can run an outside light from it.

I ran 3 core &e from the old to the new and piggybacked the outside light from there.

The new switch operates the shed lighting as it should but the original switch no longer does and when it's switched on it stops the new switch working.

I'm assuming the problem is in the old switch as that's where the issue appears to be but the wiring there seems straightforward enough.

I've attached a pic of the wiring at the original switch, any help would be appreciated thanks

Make sure you have the Brown in COM at the other switch. The Black and Grey can be either way round.

You will not be able to 'piggy back' another light with no Neutral wire present.

Wiring at the new switch, 3 gang, with neutrals in a connection box so I can work the outside light from it. Possibly I've done this wrong but I've been working nights constantly for a while and the brain's a bit foggy

Yep the feed coming from the original switch is the middle gang in the new switch
