I have been reading these forums a fair bit since I've joined up and had noticed quite a few people talking about heat guns, basically I was wondering are they worth picking up? I don't do a massive ammount of decorating jobs but if it would save me a bit of time here and there It's got to be worth looking at.

Where would I use a heat gun?

Should I get an expensive gun (makita?) or a bit cheaper (black and decker)?

They sound like a good idea, anything to save a bit of time sanding!

Would something like - http://direct.asda.com/Black-and-Decker-Heatgun/001224143,default,pd.html be powerfull enough?

Cheers :)

I stripped a doorframe using the cheapest heat gun I found in Wickes. It is faster than sanding and more convenient in tiny areas like the sides of the door stopper.
