Advice Needed - Solid Wood Floor First, Then Skirting?

Thanks WoodYouLike..........It never occurred to me to try and cut the riser. I will take another look with this in mind. I don't really want to have the gap in view because it is just by the door entrance and would stick out like a sore thumb.
