i live in a mid terrace house it has to fireplaces , can i brick one up with out planning permission ? if so what do i need to do and how do i do it ?

thanks

You will need building permission to put in a fireplace but not if you want to use it for decorative purpose.

cooool didnt think of using it for that , thanks , so i can brick it up and smooth it over and put dried flowers and stuff in there ?

Yes you can, how are you thinking of doing it, is it an old fireplace there already ? if not, you have to think about the support for the weight of the wall unless your floor is floor screed. Are you bricking it up to the top or just half way ?

theres 2 fireplaces in diff rooms , can i just brick up the front of one of the fireplaces and use the other one as a decorative fireplace if so how do i stop things coming down the chimney , do i need to block it off with something ?

You can but important to put in a air-vent for air circulation otherwise damp & musky smell problem.

you could always put a pair of wellingtons up it, suspended by string, I did last year and said poor old father christmas is stuck, it went down very well
