Hi all. 1920's house with flat roof. Getting damp on chimney breast in room below. Its not in use, bottom is open with decorative fireplace, top has been sealed. Chimney breast was repointed not long ago but he mentioned at the time it needs a cap for ventilation. Not sure why he didn't add spacers in the mortar? Anyway, what's the easiest way to do this? Lift the slabs and rebed leaving 20mm ish gaps underneath? Or fit some sort of vent into the existing slab? I don't really have a core drill big enough, can you get the slabs predrilled that I could just swap out? Any advice would be great
