ADVICE PLEASE COPPER OR PLASTIC

Can anyone advise me about copper and plastic pipe.

Having used copper for many jobs in the past I would welcome any thoughts about plastic pipe and its uses.

Example is it ok to use on central heating systems along with fixing new rads.

I would also like advice on copper and plastic push fit connections as apposed to compression joints. (don't trust my soldering prowess)
