AEG 4040 Dishwasher weird stuff

I arrived home to find by AEG dishwasher pump running with the appliance turned off!

I have found a small split in the drain hose just where it exits the machine. Is it possible that water has got into the electrics?
Is it best to wait and see if it dries out?
