AEG BUILT IN OVEN

I have just purchased an aeg oven which is rated at 3KW,ihave been told i will be okay connecting this via a 13 amp plug and a 2.5 cable.
Is this correct?
The oven i am replacing is connected via a 13 amp plug,but is only rated at 2.1KW.

3kW is just within the capacity of a 13A fused plug or FCU.

2.5mm cable is more than adequate. 1.5mm would do.
