We had two rings playing up on the cooker. A month ago I obtained a new regulator which was slimline with slightly different pins but found everything was ok keeping a careful eye on the marks on each one. Thought it was time to fix the last one but this is giving me problems because it is last in the line and has extra wires.

The original regulator is as follows:

S - blue
S (double pin) - 1 blue
4 - thin with black line
P2 (double pin) - thin, no line top; grey bottom
2 - thin red line
P1 (double pin) - thin, blue line top; brown bottom

The replacement regulator has the following pins:

S1, S2, P2, Pilot, 4, 2, P1 (double)

So the pins I'm stuck on are the original 2 S's and the original double P2.

Would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Alan.

Is the element you are trying to control a dual circuit.
Unfortunately, I can't tell!!! It's one of the two smaller rings (front right) and it's never been changed. Give me a clue how to find out and I'll tell you.

Is it a ceramic top or solid hotplates.Do you have the Model number and Prod. code.

It's the ceramic top - three standard rings and one halogen.
