My G/F has bought an AEG washer to replace her old AEG. So I swapped them over. The problem is that the new one has some kind of unit connected to the inlet valve that I guess is an anti syphon valve - but it make the washer stick out by about an inch further than it did. Shall I just put the old inlet pipe on?

It's a Lavamat but I don't know the number and the thing that sticks out is a Solenoid Triple water valve. Why do they make it so big?

Lavamat doesn't help...there are an infinite number Lavamat models. Post the pnc number that is printed on the label in the door opening.
