Garage conversion complete-ish and a shiny new tv to go on the wall.

Lack of planning - no co-ax available.

Only option appears to be splitting the cable in the loft, and running the extension outside, down the wall and back in again behind where the tv will go.

Any installation tips, recommended brands, outdoor cable or trunking to run it through?

Thanks in advance.

WF100 cable is outdoor rated. It has the lowest loss of any of the commonly available types of coax - much better than the rubbish sold by the DIY sheds as "low loss coax"

No trunking required. Just buy some cable clips for the outdoor wall run.

Splitting in the loft will be okay so long as there's enough signal from the aerial to start with, and you keep signal loss to a minimum with the down lead (see above re: WF100). Check out the signal QUALITY on your existing TV before buying any splitting gear. Quality is far more important than strength. You should be looking for Quality at 80%+ ideally.

Have a look at Satcure for all your bits and pieces. http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/cable.htm
