very difficult to know for sure, since homeowners and builders are very slow to change their ways. You could have one like that today if you wanted it and were willing to pay a first-class bricklayer (probably an older gentleman)

it would probably not have been put in from new in a low-price speculative house, but in an upmarket or architect-designed home. If it was added later, it would have been when the owner had a bit of money to spare and wanted to show off.

then its no older than 1930 they come in kit form, I had one in the 1980s
