I am going to be renovating this flat soon.

I have this boiler where the flue exits through the slate roof.

I think it will need changing, but not sure how old it is. Any ideas.

Ideally i will have the boiler exiting on a wall rather than the roof. So it makes changing the boiler in the future much easier.

Circa 2004 ish

One of the pro's might want the serial number to have a look

Ok so quite old. I can see on a valliant website they started in 2003. Does that mean they only produced them for one or two years ?

I will want to change the boiler to a new one. But i dont want to go through the roof. This is on the 5th story, so well high.

In the photo you can see the dorma has some windows. This whole section will come out to be replaced by french doors and it will step put onto a small balcony (on top of the below bay section).

Ideally i would set the boiler to the side of this balcony, so maybe to the left where that cupboard is. Do you know if this would be ok ? Obviously i will get an engineer out to check it through, but just running some ideas on you guys.

On the continent they made them and sold much more of them.

In the UK, they weren't popular and when vaillant bought them they stopped selling them. Think vaillant bought them in 2012. And it's likely they were stopped before this or this was the last date

Might be ok with a plume management kit, but need to make sure there is decent access for the engineer to get up there

I'm sure someone better qualified will be along shortly.

Next to the balcony is better than being on a roof 5 storys up. I do need to investigate the best position with the engineer.
