Colleagues
I am in the process of altering a stud partition wall and rebuilding it. I have opened a hole in the wall and can see inside. Within the wall is a pipe of around 125mm diameter and I believe at the top an AAV. The wall is between the bathroom and dressing area so it is plainly a soil pipe. On the AAV there is an orange label forming a collar running fully around the valve which says something about "remove after test" (at the moment I am reading this in a mirror through a small opening).
A couple of questions.
1. Anyone know what the orange label is and should it still be there ten years after the house was built?
2. Should these valves actually be accessible for maintenance? This is not really such an issue since it will become accessible for maintenance once I have completed my alterations but I would be happy to know.
Thanks in advance for any help.
