Air Bricks - Correct Installation / Placement

Hi;

Couple of questions about Air Bricks.

I have a 1930 brick built cavity wall house which on the ground floor has hung floors in the front room and solid floors in the front hall and solid floor in the dining room and kitchen which are both behind the front room. To the front of the property there are a couple of air bricks (and a penetrating moisture problem which I have just posted about).

Questions:

1. Where a hung floor exists should the air bricks be above or below the floor level?
2. Should the air brick enter the cavity or should it bridge the cavity and enter the void under the hung floor?
3. Should air bricks be installed in walls with solid floors to help ventilation throughout the cavity and if so where should they be installed?

2/ They should bridge the cavity, either a box shape, made of slate or nowadays a purpose made cavity liner.
