Hi.

We have a sealed heating system with an invented hot water cylinder. If we go away for a few days, when we come back and turn the hot water tap on on the bath we get water flow then a stutter of air. It clears up after a few seconds and the water then flows OK. Just wondering what causes this?

The answer is simle then, you have a leak, maybe 2 leaks water getting out and air getting in,

could be as simple as dripping taps,

When you turn the water off do you drain the tank by leaving taps open?

If so it's air in the tank because of that. Nothing to worry about

Massively delayed reply.

Turns out the utility room tap was leaking in a non obvious spot. Isolated that before going away and no issue upon return. Now just need to replace the tap.
