For the past week we have had very intermittent hot water flow. When the tap is first turned on the water flows normally and after a few seconds it slowly drains to nothing. When left for a minute that water flows for a few seconds and then drains off again. This is happening with all three hot water taps in the house; the cold water is normal.

The temperature of the water is fine and the tap gets hot but no water comes out.

We have a back boiler system and the central heating seems to be working fine. We have only been in the house for 9 months and do not know any of the history.

Neither myself or my husband have any idea about plumbing and central heating and was hoping someone may be able to shed some light?

How would we be able to find out if it were an airlock? Is it an easily fixable thing?

Matbe the ballvalve is running very slowly in the cold feed tank in the loft or airing cupboard check that its filling fast enough to compensate for the hot water you are using maybe sh***ed up ballvale
