Air in pipes?

When I turn my hot water taps on they make a moaning sound for a while. Is this air in the pipes and will it eventually work its way out or will I have to get it fixed?
 
I think you will need to tell us what produces your hot water.

Then if its always done that and last if anything has been changed?

We have an Olympic Boiler in the garage (not a combi) It supplies us with central heating and hot water.
