Air lock (I think) above the pump

Hello,

I recently changed a downstairs radiator (open system, separate to the hot water)refilled the system, bled downstairs radiators. some air came out upstairs but then nothing no water or air. The pump is working and the pipework around the boiler and the pump itself gets hot. It is almost as if there is an air lock above the pump which is preventing the water from being circulated. (the pump is in the right way as all we have done is change a radiator.)

I would appreciate any ideas. :(
