Hi guys, had a new boiler fitted 3 weeks ago, the engineer (who is platinum 5 with Intergas) flushed the system and cleared a block in the feed pipe into the system,

Boiler is a Intergas Open vent 18 KW

He wasn't happy so put some more cleaning fluid (Not sure which brand) to circulate for 4 weeks and is coming back to drain down and refill and add fernox

System worked fine for a week or so, but we are now getting a noise when the pump switches off (Central heating side only)

Went up into the loft and there is a bubble coming up from the Feed pipe in the F&E tank when the noise happens, there is nothing coming out of the vent pipe, but the vent pipe does get hot when the heating is on (Expanding water?)

It doesn't do it every time, and only after the heating is hot and been running at least 30 mins and is worse the higher the pump speed

could this be a big problem, or could it just be the system cleaning etc with the cleaing fluid running round?

Level of water in tank?

How high does vent pipe go up to before coming down into tank?

Sounds as if this is something you should be asking the installer and not us.

We have not been to your house!

There is about 2 inches of water in the F & E tank, the vent pipe rises around 6-8 inches then comes down into the side of the tank

I will be asking the questions to the installer, just like to have some knowledge before speaking to them

The water level in the system doesn't seem to move, we just get a noise and a couple of glugs of air coming up from the bottom of the f & e tank when the pump switches off, does seem to be any sign of water coming out of the expansion pipe however
