There is lots of air in my CH - in the morning when it first heats up at 6am it's quiet, then after its warmed up and switched off, the thermostat eventually switchs it on again and then I hear a lot of bubbles glub glubbing into a certain part of the upstairs circuit. Not quite sure if its sucking in air through vent, or a bad compression joint somewhere. I also notice that the boiler is kettling somewhat at times.

Might converting to a sealed system be the best idea? Are there potential problems in de-scaling the boiler with certain products beforehand ? (easier to fill and drain while its still open vented)

Don't ask...

There are 2 pumps and 3 x 2 port motorised valves...the CH pump is on the return but the HW pump is on the flow...wasn't my design! There are 2 zones on the CH. There are separate CF and vent pipes.
