Hi,

I'm having problems with my magnetic alarms door sensor on my patio door. I can't set the alarm as it says the zone is open. It's a Scantronics 9651. The sensor is old has been glued together by the looks of things. I had a look at the wiring from the back and see the following colours red, black, yellow and blue by the looks of things. There is a magnetic part on the other side of the door with no wires. Is there a way to bypass this? so I can set the alarm. (guessing short two maybe? )

Ok as you can see its really bad. Is one of the wires missing on one of the contacts? Could one of the wires be damaged?

Thanks

so which is for picture id for which zone, and how its it wired in the panel for that zone?

if they are not on the e/e route you should be able to omit the zone.

you would need to know what wires are wired to the zone, and then you can twsit that pair together, if its secure then the wires are good if not theres a break elsewhere, but contacts can stick so you can replace the contact if the wires are good.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. This is what I see.
I have the engineers code and open the panel to have a look to see how its connected.

Ok opened the panel. Would it be the yellow and blue I need to twist together?

Sorry not too technical. I see Blue/Orange and Brown for circuit 6? Is that right? , but they were not wired to the sensor. I only had black/red yellow and blue. So confused.

cct6 has a common with cct5, so your second picture is the one that needs wires twisting together.
so orange brown,

the other sensor needs putting back together as it was.

looks like the other zone with the blue and yellow was okay????

so I suspect when you try it will show a different zone active?
As to which zone I have no idea as I don't know which zone is wired to which device.

The one with the blue and yellow wire, if you put the magnet to it maybe okay, if not you can twist blue and yelloe together for testing purposes.

This is why when it says zone 6 open asked you to look at what it was wired up as in the panel, as the wires didn't match in your pictures.
