Aligning Back Boxes

I'm looking for some advice on mounting multiple back boxes aside each other. One example being mounting a cooker switch and an FCU alongside each other, or multiple FCUs.

I'm aware that careful work and measuring would have the job done, but is there any kind of mounting which would enable me to connect multiple boxes together and spaced equally. I'm guessing some kind of gland which bolts through a 20mm hole on each box and has a fixed spacing in the middle?

Does such a thing exist or has anyone done similar?

Note that these allow the switches etc to be butted up to each ather. this only works for standard width accessories, may not be OK for wider, decorative switches etc.

Make sure there's adequate space bewteen each box too.

A small angle grinder is good for making the template cuts for back boxes very accurately. The dual accessory box is another way of putting two single boxes next to each other - not everyone likes them though

To expand on this he means placing a conduit coupler between the boxes and attaching it to the boxes with bushes

A lot depends on what look you are going for, some people like the accessories right up against each other. Others like some space between them.

I use the coupling and bush method too, I'd never use a dual box.

I'd a bag of them in the motor and walked to Eddys for some box couplers.
Doh! What a Twonk!!
