Alpha 240 E - temperamental firing

This boiler has become temperamental recently, sometimes it fires some times it does not in both cases when DHW or CH in demand.
When there is a demand for DHW or CH, the pump and the fan is running but the boiler does not fire. It start firing when I tap the gas valve , then it works perfectly for a week or so then the same thing happen again, any idea. Could it be the solenoid of the gas valve is playing up.

Could be but you need a corgi to check it out and change it.
