Alpha 240E Boiler not heating water

I have an Alpha 240E combi boiler and it doesn't seem to heat water from time to time.

It seems to occur when the heating has been on for a while and then when you go to use the water nothing happens. I think generally the boiler seems to need "a break".

Is there anything i can do to stop this from happening.
