Hi

Have an alpha 240e that's been working fine for many a year. Went away for 2 weeks on holiday to return to find the red reset light flashing.

The boiler now won't fire up for either CH or hot water even though the LEDs indicate that there is a demand. I can see the gas ignite but it goes off after about 5 seconds and then the red reset light flashes again.

There are no other error lights flashing and the System pressure is ok and gas supply working fine. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Cheers
James

Gas/combustion problem which we dont advise on here.

Best advice is to get a competent gas reg engineer.

Ok thanks for that. Just wanted to make sure there was nothing I could try pre calling out a professional!

It could be the PCB but thats an expensive part to change when it is probably something simple for an RGI to fix.

The PCBs on this model is also very reliable.

Primary NTC on these can cause erratic operation and misleading fault lights when failing. Get an RGI out to test the boiler, shouldn't be too expensive to repair.
As Tony said, PCBs on these are pretty much bulletproof.
