can anyone help with any simple checks (I am not an engineer but an intelligent DIY'er) that I can make before calling in an engineer.
my alpha ocean 240E will not supply hot water - the central heating is working fine - the selection switch is set to both central heating and hot water supply and the temperature switch is set to mid way.

You need to remove the white front case and drop down the controls cover and check that the microswitch (bottom LHS ) is operating.Turn on hot tap and see if the push rod is moving and closing the switch. If not then suspect the diaphragm.

many thanks for your quick and straight forward answer - I will take a look at this micro switch
