I am changing my kitchen and re-positioning the washing machine. I have been told it's better NOT to use a stand pipe in a fourth floor flat in case of flooding. What can I do? Can I run a straight sealed drain pipe from the washing machine along horizontally high inside the cupboards for about 2 metres and then let it drop into a connection under the sink. The connection being between the plug hole and U bend? Any ideas much appreciated.
