Hi

I have an aluminium sliding patio door which is very, very stiff to slide. Has anyone any ideas on how to make the door move more freely? I have been told I need new rollers but I have absolutely no idea where to get em or how to fit them. I have also been told its not worth oiling them cos that will just attract more dirt & grit & make them even worse.
Any help gratefully received...

All patio doors are adjustable. On the bottom of the door there should be a hole or a grommet which need to be remove, normally a philip screwdriver to turn the screw for adjusting. Can't remember which way,I think it clockwise to raise the door & anti-clockwise to lower the door.Don't forget there is one on the other side.

A little tip:
Lift the door with packing or carefully with a crowbar then adjust the screw to make it easier to turn the screw with the weight of the door, then do the other side (don't do both at the same time)

Use WD-40 for runner & clean with rag,so it doesn't attract the dirts.

More info:
Also you can fit a timber underneath of the door frame, make sure the door can slide under. This is so the burglar can't lift the door off the runner.
