Just interested as the appliance is new & engineer booked for tuesday.
We have the fridge set to the highest it will go ( 8 ), frost builds up under the shelves & items are freezing. So what adjustments can the engineer make on site.
I was thinking that the thermostat is not working & therefore the appliance is running too much, the appliance does seem to be cycling as I would expect it to.
Just thoughts, as I say not me fixing it.
Its a Daewoo, what I will say is when I called the freephone number, very quick & efficient, got a call back from service depat within 5mins to book the engineer so 10 out of 10 so far.

When you say you have it turned up as high as it will go do you mean temp wise or stat setting. If you have it turned up as high as it will go numberwise I would have thought that was what was causing your problem. Have you tried it on a lower setting?

When you read the instruction book, did it say 8 was coldest, or warmest?

On the Bosch fridges, higher numbers mean colder. you might like to put a thermometer in it.

The numbers are temperatures so 8 should be warmer than 4.
The freezer is set to -17 & the coldest that can be set is -22

I wonder if it is a fridge with a knob, or a fridge with push-buttons?

We don't know the model.

Its a fridge/freeezer with electronic readout that has temperature as in 8 is centigrade (I can change it to farenheit)..IT GIVES A TEMPERATURE IE SMALL o C

The numbers are temperatures so 8 should be warmer than 4.
Not on any fridge I have ever seen :o
Then you have had fridges that had a manual t/stat where 1 is warm & 8 is cold
Yes that's right, which is why I used the surprised smiley. But even the models with dual stats that give a digital read out in degrees for the freezer only had a graduated temp. control for the fridge. It would be interesting to learn what the fix is.

I'm glad we found out that this model has press-button settings for the fridge.

My (not-very-old) Bosch FF has illuminated buttons for both fridge and freezer temps, as well as timed extra-cold buttons.

For some reason the new equivalent model has buttons for the freezer and a knob for the fridge.

I prefer the buttons.

I changed the temps on both fridge & freezer last night, this morning set them to what I want & have put a thermometer in the fridge, at the moment the fridge is reading what the setting is set for, so I,m thinking I have an intermittent electronic issue. I will report back what the engineer finds, if anything.

it doesn't have a "supercool" or "fast-chill" setting, does it?

Update...The engineer has just been, he confirms fault -5 in refrigerator, there are no adjustments.
He thinks its a faulty 'damper stat', this apparently controls the flow of cold air from freezer to fridge.
Part has to be ordered, so not fixed as yet.
