I posted previously over woes with Anglian trying to install a window. Eventually after 6 months they have got the correct frame in place, with the replacement lower windowsill we asked for.
However...........
I'm not convinced of the sealing.

First picture shows as much of the window as I can get in from the scaffold.

When they installed the previous incorrect frame, the fitters didn't render or seal the unit, and we have lots of water ingress and internal decoration failure, which they need to sort out.
The window has not been rendered in with mortar and pebbledash as the original was, just sealed in with a lot of silicone sealant!

This slightly smells of "let's get the job done as swiftly as possible and get the hell out of here!"
Is this normal practice for sealing in a window in a pebbledashed house? How long will the silicone last in the full south facing sunlight?

Many thanks for your comments.

Right hand side looks pretty tidy. You would never get a good match on the pebble dash due to years of aging, Clear silicone is what I would have done too (although I would have masking taped to make it a bit tidier.

Left hand side I would not be happy with. Gaps, Holes in the lead etc (although could some of it have been like that before?)

For future reference avoid the big national company's like the plague. Local recommended company's every day

And I'll wager you paid through the nose for that window, too.
I had three windows replaced by a local independent for only £100 more than a certain national company (who was mentioned earlier in this thread) charged for just one. All four windows were approximately the same size!
