Another Load Bearing Wall Question

Hi there,

I know this gets asked a lot, but everyone has been very helpful in the past. Before I get someone in, I thought I’d get some advice.

Looking at opening up the two reception rooms on the ground floor of our terrace house. We thought it was brick, and as we took the radiator off, saw it wasn’t.

Is this a load bearing wall? Do we need an RSJ? Above is the wall between bedroom 1 and bedroom 2. As we removed the old lathe and plaster, we couldn’t see any support currently in place.

The current plan is to keep removing all the lathe and plaster, add in a pocked door system and plasterboard over.

Thanks!

which way do the ceiling joists run in the bedrooms -if the run at 90 degrees to the wall, its possible the joists are in 2 lengths and the overlap is supported on that wall

the other thing to check is to see if there is a wall directly above, in line -if so then check in the loft to see if theres any roof timbers being supported by it

you may need to cut a hole at the top of the wall to see whether the top of the stud wall has a beam supporting anything above.
