I have decided to fit a smart thermostat and after looking at the various options I think the Nest system seems to best fit my requirements.
As I've worked with electrics for many years and wired up the existing controls on my heating system, I don't particularly want to pay an installer to fit the Nest. However here lies the problem. After shopping around the web, the complete system which includes the thermostat and heat link is available to buy with installation included. However it seems that where installation is not included, the kit includes the thermostat but not the heat link, and I can't seem to buy the heat link separately.
As the system requires both components, I can't understand why the thermostat is sold separately, but not the heat link.
Or am I missing something?
Edit: just looked again at the Nest website and noticed that there is an option to omit the installation option. I think this resolves my problem.
