It obviously depends upon the actual situation (length and route of the indoors cable run), but installing 6mm² SWA for the indoor bits of the cable run (and terminating the SWA into whatever was at the indoor end) could be significantly more of a mission than T+E.

It gives you the option of having the RCD protection at the outbuliding end, and potentially splitting it across multiple RCDs. Whereas if you have concealed T&E in the circuit you are forced to put the RCD protection at the source end.
However, in practice, the potential hassle of running SWA (particularly if fairly large CSA) a significant distance through a house to get to the outside might make one more inclined to think in the other direction!
