I have de ja vue on this thread?

Martin

If not is there any way of doing it with out SWA cable.

Thanks
Jake
You can suspend a suitable cable from a catenary if you don't want to put it underground but there are regulations on height above ground etc.

could try that but it's 20 meters away. could run it along the fence.

Thanks
jake

The closest power station is about 15 miles away from here and you wouldn't believe it but only the last few hundred metres go underground.

OK i will get the DNO out

Thanks
Jake
Is this from your house to your shed?

It would be madness to get the DNO out for a new supply 20 metres from your house if you only need a normal size shed supply. Why can't SWA be used?

You can't run artic cable/t+e along a fence either. SWA you might though...

Yes it's from the house to the shed all it needs is about 20A. All i need is
1X double socket (no really going to be used)
1X CEE socket for power tools (only used a weekends)
4X40W lamps (used an hour a week)
1X 80W Heater (on all the time)

I think that martinxxxxxx may have been taking the mick
I don't like SWA it's to hard to install. I might get an electrician to do it for me :!:

OK i will leave the Artic cable and T&E idea

Thanks
Jake

You are correct, you need an electrician.
What voltage ceeform?

It's just the glands i find hard

the CEE is 240V

i will get an electrician

Not taking the mick, you asked for alternatives, I suggested one. Really you already know the answer to this question from when you last asked it in September.

I understand why you would want to look for cheaper ways, but I don't think there are any; sorry.

Cannot recall the latest reg for this, but securing cables to fences was forbidden in the 14th, so I'm sure it will be now.

Thank you MartinXXXXXX sorry for the understanding

Right i will get SWA

Thanks guys
Jake
