essential work fixing someone s heating/ fitting boilers / servicing appliances etc etc in middle of summer was essential

what did covid disappear for the summer ? remember there was summer lock downs .
it was a very clever disease as well you couldnt catch it sitting down in a pub but you could catch it walking to the toilet so had to mask up

It's a long time ago. I've just checked. The three lockdowns were winter or spring. But there were lots and lots of anomalies and I don't intend to go get involved in a tiresome discussion going over every one of them with you.
nope there was local lock downs in the summer first being Leicester which was the 4th of july after being announced on 29th of june with the government giving additional powers to local authorities the on 18th of july

Non pharmaceutical interventions had to deal with real life…..so it’s no surprise they were at times contradictory.
The U.K. and elsewhere had no experience of dealing with a covid pandemic without a vaccine nor experience
It does not mean that non pharmaceutical interventions were wrong, decisions were taken in an emergency and without benefit of hindsight.
Luckily we had virologists and epidemiologists to make decisions and not plumbers
