Hi , ok we want to remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room, well not completely remove there will be about 30cmdepth left across ceiling and about 60cm left at edges ,there is already a doorway at one side of the wall so this will be blocked off and a new opening knocked through the middle ,this is a stud wall about 3 metres long. The question is (the house was built in 1999 and is timber framed 4 bed detatched) is this ok to do would a lintel be needed, i dont think it is load bearing but there seems to be conflicting stories about internal walls in timber framed houses . Sorry about the long message ,just trying to get everything in. Thanks

Check if the upper floor joists span onto that wall. If you cant then check your local building control archives for the structural plans. They can give you the info you need.
