Anti crossflow valve

Hi;

I am planning to install (McAlpine Anti Cross Flow and Rodent Barrier Valve ) because I have back to back wc connected horizontally by a double wye.

I am worried if I install the anti cross valve it would slow the flow.. maybe the spring is strong.

Any idea if I can remove the spring and only keep the lid to close by gravity.

What is the cross flow valve designed for?


Why would you then break it on purpose?

Having used McAlpine stuff for a long time with absolutely 0 complaints, I am sure it is up to their usually high design standards and the door won't cause an issue with flow.
