Can any one help me with some engineering science? Mainly Beams.....

From the image I have posted, can anyone tell me how to do a Shear Diagram please? I have done examples like this before, but I'm not sure how to do this one as the UDL spans the whole beam....and I haven't done this before.

Thanks a lot

36 years ago, I'd have that done in half an hour. Unfortunately it's that long since I did Engineering Drawing at A level. That plus the Alzheimers is doing me.... Is it dinnertime yet? ;) ;) ;)

I have absolutely no idea.

However I am in possession of the book Vector Mechanics for Engineers: Statics & Dynamics. It's rather nice. PM me your e-mail address and I'll try and find the relevant bits for you. ;)

Thanks for the link Alarm, I will check it out.

This is what I've come up with, but not too sure if I started it right or not....

Cheers EngStudent, I will PM you now

Close.. need to change the last 3 figures on the right to
-28.7 should be -23.3kN (ie: 1.7 - 5x5)
then add 53.3 to get 30kN
and the last should be 20kN (ie 30-5x2) which matches up to the point load

:)

From the last 20kN, should it then go back to zero? I think yes, but would like to be sure.

Thanks again
